Here in Hood River, Oregon, our cherry orchards are one of the highest-elevation cherry orchards in the Northwest. Thanks to our lofty location, we have a longer growing season resulting in sweeter, larger, more flavorful cherries. After picking the fruit at its peak, we hydro-cool and pack it within one hour for delivery to stores the following morning. We don’t use sizing equipment, which tends to bruise the cherries, so every box contains hand selected fruit size 10.5 row and larger. By setting high standards and refusing to cut corners, our family-owned orchard has been producing the region’s best cherries since 1996. Our cherries are California certified. Available: July 16-July 31 These are the cherries you remember from childhood. Sweet, dark and succulent, Bing is the king of cherries and the most well known. Available: July 24-August 2 Milder than Bings, these yellow cherries with a bright red blush are the sweetest of the bunch and a favorite for dessert. Available: July 30-August 6 Vans are for those who like their cherries with a little kick. Sweet and tangy, these black cherries tend to be delicate and should be eaten right away. Available: August 2-August 10 These late bloomers boast the flavor of Bings, but with a colossal size. Many farmers mistakenly pick these early, but their sweetness and size can only come from the tree. Available: August 5-August 15 This large, round cherry is a deep dark red, almost black in color with bright green stems. The fruit is firm and crisp, and is a sweet as its color is rich. Available: August 10-August 25 This sweet cherry is a cross between Van and Newstar. This large, bright red cherry matures later in the season, one week after Lapins for early August enjoyment!
